Back-to-Back Honours: Wolves Named Club Affiliate of the Year for 2024

April 20, 2025

Celebrating Excellence in Growth, Community and culture

For the second consecutive year, the South Brisbane Wolves have been awarded Volleyball Queensland’s Club Affiliate of the Year—a remarkable recognition of the club’s continued commitment to excellence, development, and community engagement.

This back-to-back honour reflects a year of powerful momentum for the Wolves, both on and off the court. From local grassroots development to elite competition, the club has worked tirelessly to lift the standard and create an inclusive, high-performance environment for all.

A Year of Impact and Growth

In 2024, the Wolves continued to break new ground in multiple areas, including:

  • Launching Home Round Events: Establishing a new home-game experience at Rochedale State High School, complete with commentary, music, food, mid-game entertainment and raffles—bringing the community together and raising the profile of the Premier Volleyball League.
  • Promoting Athletes and the League: Actively sharing the stories and successes of players at all levels, giving visibility to the sport and strengthening athlete pathways across Queensland.
  • Developing Strong Club Processes: Implementing clear structures and systems to support the club’s rapid growth and improve the experience for players, coaches, and volunteers.
  • Investing in Grassroots Programs: From junior academies to off-season youth socials, the Wolves have continued to nurture the next generation of volleyball athletes—creating a true development pipeline within the club.

A Culture Worth Celebrating

Behind every match, event, and training session is a dedicated team of volunteers, coaches, and leaders who believe in the club’s mission: to grow the game and create a home for athletes to thrive.

“This recognition means a lot to us,” said Club President Cameron Gore. “It’s a reflection of the hard work of so many people behind the scenes and on the court. We’re proud to be building something sustainable, exciting, and full of opportunity for the volleyball community in Brisbane.”

We couldn’t have done it without the incredible dedication and energy of our past and present committee members, volunteers, coaches, parents, and our wonderful players. This award belongs to every single person who has helped build and support the Wolves family.

As the Wolves prepare for another big season ahead, this award serves as a reminder of just how far the club has come—and how much more is yet to come.
