Supporting Growth and Opportunity for Women and Girls in Volleyball

The South Brisbane Wolves Volleyball Club is excited to announce that we’ve been awarded the Active Women and Girls Grant 2024, a fantastic opportunity to further our commitment to supporting and empowering women and girls in volleyball. This grant will allow us to continue expanding our programs and provide even more opportunities for women and girls to participate in the sport, build their skills, and join our vibrant volleyball community.

President Cameron Gore expressed his enthusiasm about the grant:

"We are thrilled to secure the Active Women and Girls grant, which will allow us to continue supporting the growth of women and girls in our club. This is an incredible opportunity to ensure that more women and girls feel welcomed and encouraged to get involved in volleyball. We are committed to creating a space where they can thrive and reach their full potential, both on and off the court."

The Active Women and Girls grant will help fund initiatives that provide greater access and resources to volleyball for women and girls, including subsidised programs, specialised coaching, and new equipment. The goal is to break down barriers, increase participation, and create a pathway for more women and girls to develop their skills and confidence in the sport for years to come.

Shannon Fentiman MP, Minister for Women, also shared her support for the initiative:

"Our $15 million Active Women and Girls initiative is getting women and girls involved in all levels and all areas of sports and recreation. I’m so pleased to see a well-deserving club in my electorate awarded this grant!"

This grant is a step forward in the club’s ongoing mission to foster an inclusive, supportive, and diverse volleyball environment. With the support of the Active Women and Girls grant, the Wolves are excited to create a lasting impact and encourage more women and girls to get involved in volleyball, regardless of experience level.

We look forward to seeing how this funding will benefit our programs and help elevate the women’s game in volleyball in the South Brisbane area. Stay tuned for updates as we roll out exciting new initiatives and opportunities!
