In a remarkable debut season, the South Brisbane Wolves made history by winning the Volleyball Queensland State Championships Presidents Shield in 2020. Competing against some of the state’s best teams, the Wolves showcased determination, teamwork, and passion to claim the title—an extraordinary achievement for a club in its inaugural year.
What made this victory even more special was the unprecedented challenges of 2020. With the COVID-19 pandemic disrupting training schedules, limiting competition opportunities, and creating uncertainty around sporting events, the road to the championship was anything but smooth. Despite these obstacles, the Wolves stayed committed, adapting to restrictions and making the most of every opportunity to train and compete.
Vice President Cameron Gore reflected on the milestone, saying:
"Winning the President's Shield in our very first season was a testament to the dedication of our players, coaches, and supporters. 2020 was a tough year for everyone, and to come through it with this achievement speaks volumes about the resilience and passion of our club."
This triumph would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our players, coaching staff, volunteers, families, and fans. The energy from the sidelines, the commitment on the court, and the belief in our vision all played a crucial role in making this dream a reality.
As the Wolves continue to grow, this victory serves as a reminder of what can be achieved when passion and perseverance come together. Thank you to everyone who has been part of the journey so far—we can’t wait for what’s next!
